Here are a few ideas to help you with your camp programme:

Local Attractions:

 Baildon Moor - moors with views over Shipley towards Bradford in the south & Keighley in the west.

 Shipley Glen - a gritstone escarpment with numerous boulders to keep cubs or scouts busy.

 Glen Tramway - travel in unique cable hauled open carriages in a woodland setting.

 Bracken Hall Countryside Centre - Shipley Glen

 Canal trips by waterbus on the Leeds & Liverpool canal.

 Sir Titus Salt's model village and mill at Saltaire.

 Swimming Pools at Shipley & Bingley.

 Ten Pin Bowling - Shipley & Keighley.

  

 Adventurous Activities:

 Rock Climbing at Ilkley or Almscliff (Ilkley best for beginners) These are premier climbing venues so expect lots of lycra clad climbers.

 Sailing and canoeing at Reva Reservoir Sailing Centre - 10 minutes from the campsite.

 Hiking & general map and compass navigation can be found on Ilkley Moor.

 Mountain Biking - Good network of bridleways for mountain bikers with own equipment. Suggested biking routes starting from Shipley

Mountain bikes for Hire **** Small selection of bikes are available for hire

Activities and places of interest within an hour's drive of the camp site:

 Yorkshire Dales offer infinite opportunities for adventure or leisure pursuits.

 Skipton is the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, and with a castle to explore, well worth a visit.

 Bingley 3 & 5 rise locks on the Leeds & Liverpool canal - observe narrow boats negotiating the locks.

 Rock Climbing and scrambling at Brimham Rocks (Diff to E8!).

 Brimham Rocks (NT) Pateley Bridge is a world of strange weather worn rocks with names like Dancing Bear, Lover's Leap and Turtle Rock.

 Caving can be found throughout the Yorkshire Dales - either by show cave or own exploration.

 Hiking expeditions to the Three Peaks, Great Whernside, Buckden Pike can all be done in a day.

 Harewood House is a well-known stately home with large gardens, lake, exotic animals plus adventure playground (14yrs old max).Click here

 Eureka! Halifax is The Children's Museum - It's all about touching and exploring the everyday things around us.

 Jorvik Viking Centre, York - reconstructed Viking settlement with sights and smells of a unique interpretation of history.

 Temple Newsam House Farm, Leeds. Situated around Tudor/Jacobean house and best of all it's free!

 Royal Armouries, Leeds
