Sconce Campsite

The campsite is owned solely by Aire Valley Scout District. The campsite began life in the mid 60s with a couple of fields & a small wooden hut. Over the years this has increased into five separated areas with two purpose built buildings named The Activity Centre and Phoenix Hut

The campsite is situated at Sconce in a quiet valley on the edge of Baildon Moor quite near to Baildon village, which is approximately 5 miles north west of Bradford in the Aire Valley. The site is owned and used by local groups and is open to any Scouting, Guiding and Youth group. Visitors come many parts of the UK and abroad.

Rye Crofts Field is the larger of the two camping areas and supports groups who are looking for the more traditional style of camping i.e. under canvas and wood fires. There are centrally situated toilet/shower facilities plus altar fires situated around the perimeter of the field with numerous trees giving shelter and some privacy from neighbouring groups. Two open fronted shelters available to campers. Flat areas between the sites are suitable for games and/or troop marquees.
Mobile phones are now common place but we do have a conventional telephone on site if required
